WMATA opens first in-fill station

On Saturday, (WMATA) opened the New York Avenue-Florida Avenue-Gallaudet U Metrorail Station on the Red Line.

The facility is WMATA’s 84th station and first in-fill station — a facility built between two existing stations. Located between the Union and Rhode Island Avenue stations, the $103.7 million facility was funded by the District of Columbia, federal government and a special assessment district of area private land owners.
