Sumwalt begins second term at NTSB

On Tuesday, Robert Sumwalt was sworn in for a second five-year term as a National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) member. The term will expire on Dec. 31, 2016.
Sumwalt was first designated as a NTSB member in August 2006 by President George W. Bush and served as vice chairman for two years. He currently is serving a five-year term that expires Dec. 31.
Prior to joining the board, Sumwalt was manager of aviation for the SCANA Corp,. and served as a commercial pilot for 24 years at Piedmont Airlines and US Airways.
