Kevin Price officially stepped into the position of president of the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) on July 1 as the first phase of a leadership transition plan. Price will report to CEO Griff Lynch until Lynch retires on August 1, 2027; Price will then assume the role of president and CEO.

“I’m excited for our employees and all our stakeholders, because Kevin is the perfect candidate to take GPA and our team to the next level,” said Lynch in a press release.

Price brings more than 30 years of operations experience to the role, having held multiple leadership roles in the port terminal industry, including president of Gateway Terminals in Savannah and chief operating officer of Virginia International Terminals.

“Kevin understands that Georgia Ports has built its success through long-term decisions, investments and operational excellence that are an economic engine for the Peach State and the Southeast region,” said GPA Chairman Alec Poitevint. “The board is confident Kevin’s collaborative leadership and customer focus will keep Georgia Ports at the forefront of innovation and growth in our industry.”

GPA's Port of Savannah and Port of Brunswick are served by Genessee & Wyoming’s Savannah Port Terminal Railroad and Golden Isles Terminal Railroad, respectively, which interchange with CSX and Norfolk Southern Railway. GPA also oversees three inland ports: The Gainsville Inland Port is served by NS; the Appalachian Regional port is served by CSX; and the Bainbridge terminal is served by both Class Is.
