Anacostia Rail Holdings has appointed Mark Nuchurch to the newly created role of manager of safety and compliance. Nuchurch has 29 years of experience in the railroad industry in operations, safety and training. He began his railroad career as a conductor and locomotive engineer before spending 19 years in management. Most recently, he served as manager of safety and operating practices at CSX Intermodal Terminals, Anacostia officials said in a press release. In his new role, he will support safety and security programs, maintain compliance and manage training and educational standards. Prior to entering the rail industry, Nuchurch was a sergeant in the U.S. Army.
Regional Transportation District-Denver announced the hiring of Kelly Mackey as chief financial officer. Mackey will oversee RTD's $1.4 billion budget and drive financial strategies, as well as lead RTD's finance, accounting, treasury, investment and asset management teams, according to an RTD press release. In her most recent role, Mackey served as vice president of finance at Trellix, a cybersecurity company. She also has held multiple leadership roles during her 15-year career at Staples. Mackey will assume her new duties on May 12. Her predecessor, Doug MacLeod, retired earlier this year after nearly 15 years of service to RTD.
Road & Rail Services LLC (R&R) announced that two of its team members, Rick Stewart and Rufus Trevillion, have been selected by the National Industrial Transportation League for its inaugural emerging leaders program. The year-long program is designed to give emerging leaders the necessary resources to prepare them for executive advancement and establish themselves as future leaders of their company and the shipping industry, R&R officials said in a press release. There are 16 participants in the inaugural class. Stewart is R&R's assistant vice president, industrial services; Trevillion is general manager. “A key element of our strategic vision is to be intentional in preparing the next generation of leadership,” said R&R president Kevin Brandon. “Their inclusion in the inaugural class of the Emerging Leaders Program recognizes the dynamic leadership that Rick Stewart and Rufus Trevillion have already demonstrated, and their continued potential as leaders within our organization.”
