Las Vegas Railway Express Inc. officials have appointed Jim Wilson chief operations officer-rail operations for the X Train, the proposed luxury passenger-rail service between southern California and Las Vegas.

Wilson has more than 30 years of rail operations experience, including train dispatching, service planning, locomotive and rolling stock allocation, terminal and network productivity, mechanical service coordination and emergency preparedness, Las Vegas Railway Express officials said in a press release.

Meanwhile, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District IV Secretary James Wolfe has been appointed to the governing board of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority.

Wolfe is a 34-year veteran of FDOT, where he has served as a senior manager since 1987. He also has served as director of development and director of operations.

As a member of FDOT’s executive board, Wolfe plays an “integral role in addressing statewide issues, ranging from policies and procedures to overseeing the Florida Transportation Plan,” SFRTA officials said in a prepared statement. Wolfe also serves as a member of the Southeast Florida Regional Partnership Executive Board.
