KCS promotes two finance execs

Kansas City Southern recently promoted James Byrd from assistant vice president of taxes to VP of international taxes and William Galligan, from AVP to VP of investor relations.
With 33 years’ tax experience, Byrd joined KCS in 2004. He previously spent nine years at Black & Veatch, where he focused on international taxes. Byrd also has worked for H.B. Zachary and Fluor Corp.
With 29 years’ corporate communications experience, Galligan joined KCS in 1992 as AVP corporate communications. Prior to that, he spent 13 years managing corporate communications and public relations for United Illuminating, an electric utility in Connecticut.
