Kansas City Southern recently promoted Assistant Chief Mechanical Officer John Foster to vice president and chief mechanical officer of KCS' U.S. operation. Foster succeeds James Fisk, who joined Electro-Motive Diesel Inc. as vice president.
In 1968, Foster joined KCS as a carman apprentice. He has since served the mechanical department in various capacities.
“John knows first hand what it takes to run a world-class mechanical operation," said Art Shoener, president and chief executive officer of KCS' U.S. operation, in a prepared statement.
