Hampshire-Cowan joins WMATA's board

Artis Hampshire-Cowan has been elected to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s board. She succeeds Marcell Solomon as an alternate director.
Hampshire-Cowan is senior vice president and secretary at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Earlier in her career, she served as a congressional lobbyist, attorney-adviser to the D.C. deputy mayor, and a consumer and regulatory enforcement administrator.
WMATA’s board comprises 16 members representing D.C., Maryland, Virginia and the federal government.
