Futhey wins second term as UTU president

Yesterday, United Transportation Union (UTU) members elected Mike Futhey to his second four-year term as president at the union’s 11th quadrennial convention in Hollywood, Fla.
Members also re-elected Assistant President Arty Martin, General Secretary and Treasurer Kim Thompson, and National Legislative Director James Stem. The officers will begin serving their next terms on Jan. 1, 2012.
The UTU will hold additional elections for international officers today and tomorrow. Elections are pending for seven International vice presidents, eight alternate vice presidents and an alternate national legislative director.
