Bi-State Development has hired Ronald Forrest as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Metro Transit-St.Louis.

Forrest will succeed Charles Stewart, who will retire by June 30. Forrest has more than 25 years of public transit leadership experience, Metro Transit officials said in a press release.

Most recently, Forrest was a deputy COO at Metro Transit in Minneapolis, where he and his team were responsible for delivering 60 million customer trips annually.

"We are excited to welcome Ronald to our transit team," said Taulby Roach, president and CEO of Bi-State Development, which operates Metro Transit-St. Louis. "His extensive expertise in operations management and his dedication to innovation and customer-centric solutions will be invaluable to our mission of delivering world-class transit services."
