Employees tout NS' connection to communities through speaker network

Norfolk Southern Corp. is relying on employees to promote the benefits of rail transportation and NS to communities served by the Class I.
The railroad, which will mark its 175th anniversary on Christmas Day, recently formed the Thoroughbred Speakers Network to get the word out that rail has “withstood the test of time,” according to a prepared statement. Communities can request an employee speaker for their event by sending an email to speaker@nscorp.com.
“Back when we had a station agent in every town, communities easily identified with the railroad,” said NS President and Chief Executive Officer Wick Moorman. “We want to rekindle that connection by underscoring that Norfolk Southern is vital to the people and communities we serve.”
