BNSF Railway Co. recently named Ron Jackson general manager of the Texas Division to succeed Steve Bobb, who was appointed group vice president of coal last month.

Since beginning his railroad career with the Santa Fe Railway in 1977, Jackson has held various transportation positions, including assistant vice president of merchandise operations, AVP of merchandise and grain operations, and, most recently, general manager of the Northwest Division.

BNSF also promoted Doug Jones to general manager of the Northwest Division to succeed Jackson.

Most recently general director of transportation in the Nebraska Division, Jones — who joined Burlington Northern Railroad in 1988 — previously served as assistant general superintendent of transportation and superintendent of the Dakota Division.
