Former U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall (D-W. Va.) has joined the Eno Center for Transportation's Freight Working Group, the center announced last week.

Rahall currently works with Cassidy and Associates, a government relations firm based in Washington, D.C. At Eno, he will join former U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman as the Freight Working Group's co-chair.

Rahall succeeds former New Jersey Gov. James Florio, who recently stepped down from the co-chair role, according to an Eno Center press release.

In May 2016, the working group released its first report, "Delivering the Goods: Recommendations for Funding a Federal Freight Program," which focused on finding a funding source for expanding and improving the national freight program established by the federal Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act.

Rahall served in the U.S. House of Representatives for 38 years, during which time he served on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and its predecessor.
