Former Northern Southern Corp. Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman Wick Moorman has been named to Duke Energy's board effective today.
Moorman served NS as CEO from 2005 to 2015 and executive chairman from 2006 until his retirement last year. He joined NS in 1970 and held various leadership positions in the company's operations, human resources, labor relations, information technology and strategic planning units during the course of his career."Wick Moorman led one of America's largest and most important railroad businesses," said Duke Energy CEO, President and Chairman Lynn Good in a press release. "His experience and strategic insights will be invaluable in helping us deliver results for our customers, shareholders and communities."Moorman will serve on the nuclear oversight committee of Duke Energy's board. The company is based in Charlotte, N.C.
