Steve Bolte, who for the past 16 years served as publisher of Progressive Railroading, has been named senior director of North American sales for Harsco Rail. He'll begin his new position on July 7.
“As publisher of Progressive Railroading, Steve Bolte not only raised the profile of the publication in the rail industry, but also expanded its influence with the introduction of the brand’s digital Daily News and the RailTrends® conference held each year in New York City," said Bob Wisniewski, CEO of Trade Press Media Group Inc. and owner of the magazine. "Steve has tremendous leadership skills and our organization will surely miss him.”
"This was one of the hardest decisions that I had to make in my life. To me, Progressive Railroading is family, I will truly miss everyone," Bolte said. "Over my 16 years, we have been able to accomplish so many great things. The editorial team and sales staff are the tops in the industry. As always, they will continue to offer the high-quality print and digital products that make Progressive Railroading the top media outlet in our industry."
A search for Bolte's replacement is already under way, Wisniewski said.
