advertisement
On Jan. 2, Amtrak and the Vermont Agency of Transportation plan to launch two daily stops at the recently renovated Castleton, Vt., station on the state-supported Ethan Allen Express route.
The historically refurbished Castleton Depot, which was built in 1850, replaces a small outdoor Fair Haven stop that will remain open until Jan. 9. The station features an indoor waiting room and parking facilities.
Ethan Allen Express trains operate between Rutland, Vt., and New York City via Albany, N.Y. Amtrak hasn’t stopped in Castleton for more than 50 years.
