• Balfour Beatty Rail Inc. appointed Santiago Muñiz business development manager and Thomas Young, senior traction power engineer in the company’s Transit Division. A 38-year rail transportation system vet, Muñiz has served as design engineer, project manager, engineering manager and general manager for a range of organizations, including the U.S. Department of Transportation, Bay Area Rapid Transit, San Francisco Municipal Metro, São Paulo Metro, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, Bechtel Inc., Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon and Siemens. Young most recently served as Reuel Inc.’s vice president of operations - traction systems. His 32-year engineer/design career includes stints with such companies as GE, Motorola, Tenna Corp., The Ohio Brass Co. and IMPulse NC Inc.
• Norgren Inc., a supplier of pneumatic and fluid control solutions, named Charles Stack director, US Rail Sector. He previously served as a senior leader on Norgren’s global engineering team.
• For the second-consecutive year, MTU Detroit Diesel was named one of “Metropolitan Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” as defined by the Michigan Business and Professional Association. More than 400 companies were evaluated based on the following categories: communication; community initiatives; compensation and benefits; diversity and multiculturalism; employee education and development; employee engagement and commitment; recognition and retention; small business; recruitment and selection; and work-life balance.
