advertisement
Driverless automatic train control (ATC) system components, which are in use on Copenhagen’s metro system and were developed by Union Switch & Signal Inc., recently were certified as meeting the safety standards for Comite Europeen de Normalisation Electrotechnique (CENELEC, or European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization).
CENELEC is a non-profit organization formed in 1973 to establish common technical standards for implementation across national boundaries throughout Western Europe.
TUV InterTraffic GmbH, an independent safety assessor based in Cologne, Germany, concluded in a recent safety assessment that the US&S MICROLOK II® wayside control system, MICROCAB II® vehicle control system and AF-902™ digital track circuit system are suitable to fulfill the metro’s specific platform requirements.
