TriMet boosts ridership in January

The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) is off to a good start in 2009, at least ridership-wise.
The agency's ridership climb continued in January, with 8.2 million rides, up 2.4 percent compared with January 2008.
Weekly light-rail ridership averaged 643,000 trips, up 2.3 percent, and weekday trips averaged 105,000, up 3.2 percent. Peak-period ridership rose 1.9 percent to 32,400 boardings.
