The Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) will host three public meetings this week to solicit public comments on updated project and environmental information for the proposed 40-mile commuter-rail project known as TEX Rail.
The meetings — including one to be held on Wednesday in Grapevine, Texas, and two in Fort Worth on Thursday — are being conducted to review recent changes made to the project since the draft environmental impact statement was completed, discuss an environmental analysis and provide information about the project's next steps, said The T officials in a prepared statement.
The Federal Transit Administration directed the reevaluation analysis to be incorporated into a stand-alone environmental assessment, which will be discussed at the meetings, they said.
Formerly known as the Southwest-to-Northeast Rail Corridor, TEX Rail will accommodate riders from southwest Fort Worth, through downtown, on to Grapevine and into the north end of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
