TCU members ratify LIRR contract

Members of the Transportation Communications Union Unit 167 recently ratified a new contract with MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) by a 98 percent majority vote.
Retroactive to Jan. 1, 2007, the agreement runs through June 10, 2010.
The contract was negotiated as part of an 11-union Labor Council. Last week, LIRR locomotive engineers represented by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen ratified their contract.
