United Kingdom-based Railtrack PLC recently awarded Harsco Track Technologies (HTT) a $25 million order to build switch and crossing rail grinders for U.K.’s railway system, Harsco Corp. announced Sept. 5.
HTT already supplied Railtrack 13 "Stoneblower" track surfacing machines and one P-811 Track Renewal Train, which is a self-contained, multi-unit train used to restore and upgrade track.
All the units included in Railtrack’s current order will be equipped with HTT’s dust collection and noise-abatement technologies, as well as its Jupiter control system, which is a modular, self-diagnostic "plug and play" operating system, the company said.
Deliveries are scheduled to being in early 2003 and continue throughout the year.
