PennDOT reopens Mount Joy Station

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and Federal Transit Administration officials yesterday marked the reopening of the Amtrak station in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. 

Launched in 2016, the project to remodel the station was aimed at making it more accessible to passengers with disabilities. 

The remodeled station now includes an elevator, stair towers, a pedestrian over pass, high-level platforms, 69 parking spaces and a long-term parking lot, PennDOT officials said in a press release.

The station revitalization cost about $33 million, and was funded with state and federal dollars.

Mount Joy Station is located on Amtrak's Keystone route.
