Starting May 17, all Metrolinx passenger trains on the Lakeshore West GO Line in the Niagara Falls area of Ontario will begin stops at the West Harbour GO Transit station.

The new stop is the result of a new connecting track that will enable trains to travel directly through the station rather than having to back in and out to return to the main line.

The connecting track had been estimated to be completed in fall 2025 but was finished ahead of schedule, Metrolinx officials said in a press release.

As a result, riders will have four more train trips to choose from on weekdays and six new trips on weekends.

Additionally, direct service between Hamilton, St. Catherines and Niagara Falls will now be available on weekends. Niagara Falls trains that already made West Harbour stops will save up to eight minutes in travel in each direction.
