Metra inks deal for event recorder systems

Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corp. (Metra) Sept. 6 awarded Global Railway Industries Ltd. subsidiary Bach-Simpson a $1.3 million contract to supply railroad event recorder systems.
Global recently acquired Bach-Simpson and officials believe this order establishes the combined company in the transit marketplace, according to a prepared statement.
