MARTA appoints infrastructure manager

Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) June 29 named Laura Ray assistant general manager of infrastructure, effective July 16.
Ray formerly served as senior director of capital budgeting for Amtrak, responsible for planning and managing a $1 billion annual budget. Prior to joining Amtrak in 1997, Ray served New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority as assistant director of transit projects, where she managed corporate oversight of MTA’s multi-year $14 billion capital program.
In her new position, Ray will oversee a $65 million annual budget and MARTA’s capital improvement program. She also will manage a staff of more than 600 people.
