L.A. MTA to launch transit pass programs

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) plans to begin five transit pass programs designed to promote transit use:
• Annual Pass Program would provide a yearly pass to L.A. County employers who purchase passes only for employees riding MTA trains or buses;
• All Employee Pass Program would provide an annual pass to county employers who wish to purchase passes for all employees;
• Institutional Pass Program, offered to large organizations or groups that enter into an agreement with MTA, would provide fare media arrangements, additional services, and access to bus and rail service;
• Juror Pass Program, marketed to people reporting for jury duty, would provide MTA service in exchange for mileage reimbursement; and
• Visitors Pass Program would provide a semi-custom pass to area conventions, hotels, chambers, visitor bureaus and meeting planners.
