Greater Cleveland RTA to showcase new Red Line cars

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) will display its first newly renovated Red Line rail cars Tuesday and Wednesday at the city's Tower City Center.

All 40 of the Red Line cars are undergoing a $3.5 million interior renovation project in addition to recently completed exterior work, GCRTA officials said in a press release. The interior overhaul is expected to be completed in two years.

Interior improvements and new features include LED lighting, upgraded seat frames and seats, new windows, refurbished interior panels, replaced flooring and sub-flooring, additional ADA space, and updated graphics and signage.
