GO Transit unveils new cab cars

This week, GO Transit began premiering the first of its new line of rail cars featuring several improvements aimed at increasing rider comfort.

The updated cars include more space between seats, flooring material that helps reduce train noise, and improved cushioning on seats and head rests.

Additionally, the center pole near the doors was removed to make it easier for riders to get into and out of the coaches, according to an announcement on GO Transit's website.

Over the next few years, the agency plans to put hundreds more of the new vehicles into service.

The expansion includes both cab cars, which have drive controls and rider areas, as well as passenger cars.
