GO Transit sets new ridership record
advertisement
GO Transit has continued to increase ridership during the past six years, and last fiscal year was no exception — 44.8 million people used the agency’s trains and buses between March 1, 2002 and March 31, 2003, an increase of 1.6 million compared with the previous fiscal year.
GO Transit has taken measures to serve additional passengers, such as adding a sixth train on the Milton Line, which increased ridership 5.9 percent.
The agency also is discussing other plans to make system improvements. A 10-year plan would increase capacity to accommodate an anticipated 40 percent growth during the next decade.
