GO Transit President Gary McNeil and Ontario government officials recently marked the opening of a new parking structure at the Centennial GO Station serving Markham, Ontario.
The $16 million project (in Canadian dollars) included the addition of 250 new parking spaces to respond to the growing number of commuters that use the station, GO Transit officials said in a prepared statement. The new structure brings the total number of available spaces to 450.
“By providing more parking, we are making it easier and more convenient for people to choose GO Transit and leave their cars at home,” said McNeil.
Construction of the structure began in April 2010. The project was part of the $500 million GO Transit Improvement Program.
