Foothill Gold Line dedicates four LA Metro Line A stations

The Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority this month held dedication ceremonies for the four new stations along the 9-mile light-rail project between Glendora and Pomona, California.
The $1.5 billion project began construction in July 2020 and reached substantial completion on time and on budget on Jan. 3, construction authority officials said in a press release.
The project extends the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) A Line to the cities of Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne and Pomona. Since substantial completion, the project has been handed over to LA Metro to perform final preparations to ready the extension for passenger service. A start date for passenger service has not been announced.
The four new stations will provide connections to important regional destinations, including the site of the cricket games during the 2028 Olympic Games. Additionally, the Foothill Gold Line extension will provide a direct link between the LA Metro A Line and the Metrolink San Bernadino Line in Pomona.
The Foothill Gold Line extension was the first Measure M funded light-rail project to break ground and was named on of LA Metro's 28 priority projects to be completed prior to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
