Danish trainsets to include SAB WABCO braking systems
advertisement
When the Danish national railway company (DSB) receives 83 new diesel multiple units it ordered from AnsaldoBreda, the trainsets will come with SAB WABCO body brake systems, thanks to a $9.4 million order the Italian DMU manufacturer placed in late May. An option could add equipment for 67 more trains.
SAB WABCO plans to equip the trains with Gemini 2 electronic systems, which would control and distribute the braking force, and a compact integrated relay valve to control brake pressure. The brake equipment will be produced in SAB WABCO’s Italy plant.
DSB plans to operate the four-car trains on the Copenhagen-Arhus line. The railway expects to begin taking delivery of the trains in February 2002, and enter them into service the following year.
