Today, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) opened a 24-hour park-and-ride lot next to its Garfield Station on the south branch of the Green Line.
The daily fee to park in the 117-space lot — which includes lighting, canopies, landscaping, fencing and an electronic fare-collection system — is $1.50.
"This facility will make it easier for many commuters to take the CTA by providing a seamless transfer point between road and rail," said CTA President Frank Kruesi in a prepared statement.
CTA’s system now includes 17 parking lots featuring 6,055 spaces.
