Transit agencies nationwide continue to report significant ridership gains this summer.
The most recent agency to join the High-Ridership Club is Portland’s Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (Tri-Met).
Tri-Met's MAX light rail ridership jumped 12 percent in July, averaging 71,300 total daily trips. Eastside MAX averaged 44,300 weekday trips; Westside MAX, 27,000 weekday trips.
Weekend MAX’s July ridership averaged 50,300 trips on Saturdays and 36,700 trips on Sundays.
