BART receives Bay Area recognition for digital marketing 'excellence'

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) recently received the San Francisco chapter of the American Marketing Association's 2009 "Excellence in Digital Marketing" award.
The chapter recognized BART for its use of "digital distribution channels to reach consumers in a timely, relevant, personal and cost-effective manner," according to the association. The distribution channels include the agency's main Web site, email and text alerts, a Twitter feed, blog, Facebook page and open format data for developers.
