Austrian Railways selects Alcatel for electronic interlocking system

Alcatel Transport Automation Solutions’ Austrian Division Jan. 11 delivered what it calls the largest electronic interlocking system in operation in Austria to the nation’s railway, ÖBB.
The ELEKTRA electronic interlocking system, which uses 188 points, was installed in the marshalling yard in Wels, a commercial city between Salzburg and Linz, Austria.
