Amtrak reports technical problems with online reservation, ticketing system

Amtrak is working on resolving technical problems with its online reservation and ticketing system, Amtrak.com.
The performance issues are related to a relocation of the national intercity passenger railroad’s data center to a more modern facility on April 17, Amtrak officials said in a prepared statement.
“Unfortunately, the transition did not go as smoothly as we expected,” they said.
While the system is performing slowly, Amtrak advised riders to make reservations via its contact centers, Amtrak Quick-Trak kiosks or station ticketing agents.
