Alaska Railroad Corp. Sept. 10 released a Public Review Draft of its South Central Rail Network Commuter Study and Operations Plan.
A public meeting is scheduled for Oct. 3 to discuss the study, its methodologies, and share survey and focus group results. Public comments are due by Oct. 31, at which time they will be considered and incorporated into the study. The railroad’s board would then approve the final draft and forward it to Federal Transit Administration.
The study looked at running service from Mat-Su to Anchorage, and from Girdwood to Anchorage.
