VIA Rail Canada Inc. and CGI Inc. today announced a long-term agreement for CGI to continue providing managed services for the railroad’s business applications, including VIA Rail's new online reservation system.
The two companies have worked together since 2020, when CGI was selected to help build VIA Rail’s cloud-based reservation system as part of a broader modernization initiative, CGI officials said in a press release.
"This new reservation system is an integral part of the customer journey and another important milestone in VIA Rail's modernization. CGI is a trusted and valued partner to help VIA Rail achieve this goal," said VIA Rail President and CEO Martin Landry.
Founded in 1976, CGI is an independent IT and business consulting firm employing 90,000 consultants and professionals across the globe.
