Leahy named CEO of Metrolink
Metrolink's board late last week officially approved Art Leahy as the agency's new chief executive officer.
Leahy, who will begin his new role April 20, announced in January his plans to leave his job at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA), where he served as CEO for six years.
Prior to his appointment, Leahy also served leadership roles at OCTA and Metro Transit in Minneapolis-St.Paul.
"When the position became available at Metrolink, I was immediately intrigued," Leahy said in a statement. "Having had the opportunity to work at both [Los Angeles County] Metro and Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), I have witnessed firsthand the incredible diligence of the Metrolink staff, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to further grow and enhance Southern California's six-county rail system."
Phil Washington, CEO and general manager of the Regional Transportation District of Denver, was named last week as Leahy's successor at LACMTA.
