Updates from Balfour Beatty Rail, Norgren and MTU Detroit Diesel


• Balfour Beatty Rail Inc. appointed Santiago Muñiz business development manager and Thomas Young, senior traction power engineer in the company’s Transit Division. A 38-year rail transportation system vet, Muñiz has served as design engineer, project manager, engineering manager and general manager for a range of organizations, including the U.S. Department of Transportation, Bay Area Rapid Transit, San Francisco Municipal Metro, São Paulo Metro, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, Bechtel Inc., Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon and Siemens. Young most recently served as Reuel Inc.’s vice president of operations - traction systems. His 32-year engineer/design career includes stints with such companies as GE, Motorola, Tenna Corp., The Ohio Brass Co. and IMPulse NC Inc.

• Norgren Inc., a supplier of pneumatic and fluid control solutions, named Charles Stack director, US Rail Sector. He previously served as a senior leader on Norgren’s global engineering team.

• For the second-consecutive year, MTU Detroit Diesel was named one of “Metropolitan Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” as defined by the Michigan Business and Professional Association.
