NJ Transit adds trains on several lines

Yesterday, New Jersey Transit implemented a new timetable that adds 28 trains to various lines.

The agency is operating one more morning and evening peak train along the Northeast Corridor, adding 2,000 seats to alleviate crowding on the system’s busiest line.

NJ Transit also added an express service between the Montclair State University and Ramsey/Route 17 stations. Along the Main/Bergen County Line, the agency is operating an additional two trains per hour from 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in each direction between Suffern, Ramsey/Route 17 and Ridgewood.

In addition, NJ Transit added 2,500 more seats to the Morris and Essex lines by operating two new weekday evening trains, and a weekday early and mid-morning train.

The agency also is operating an earlier morning and later evening train along the North Jersey Coast Line.
