Norfolk Southern Railway is providing intermodal service for a new Bob's Discount Furniture distribution center and retail location in Cleveland.
NS created an integrated rail solution to serve the retailer's specific needs, simplify operations and improve reliability, NS officials said in a social media post.
The railroad's international intermodal sales and marketing and customer logistics teams developed a relationship with the retailer, intermodal operations team worked to showcase the strength of the Maple Heights terminal, and network design and transportation team crafted a solid service product, they said.
"This win reflects what we do best — working together to deliver for our customers," NS officials said.
The new distribution center, which officially opened in February, is the company's first distribution center to be paired with a retail store, according to Bob's Discount Furniture.
