advertisement
Union Pacific Railroad continues to improve track on its line between Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo. The Class I is spending $1.5 million to upgrade track between Bonnots Mill and Jefferson City.
To be completed in mid-February, the project calls for removing and installing 5,500 ties and spreading 13,100 tons of ballast.
Since the beginning of 2006, UP has spent $68 million to upgrade the K.C.-to-St Louis line. This year, the Class I has budgeted more than $1 billion for infrastructure improvements system-wide.
