Metra contract crews next week will begin putting up steel support beams for a new Union Pacific North Line rail bridge over Irving Park Road in Chicago.
In May, Judlau Contracting Inc. will begin to construct the bridge over the road’s eastbound lanes.
The work is part of a $17.2 million project to replace 11 century-old rail bridges along the UP North Line from Grace Street north to Balmoral Avenue.
The work will require road closures throughout May and early June.
