Harsco Track Technologies (HTT) recently won its third track-maintenance services contract within the past 90 days. Under the seven-year rail grinding service contract with an undisclosed company, HTT expects to receive $90 million in revenue.
In addition to managing grinding operations, HTT will pre-evaluate track condition. Work is scheduled to begin in mid-2006.
In August, Harsco obtained a multi-year grinding service contract expected to generate $70 million in revenue; last month, the company introduced a ballast cleaning service and landed Florida East Railway L.L.C. as the first customer.
Parent firm Harsco Corp. expects HTT’s contract service revenue to account for 40 percent of the corporation’s total 2005 revenue compared with 26 percent three years ago.
