advertisement
On Oct. 7, Johnstown America Corp. announced the delivery of 575 covered hoppers to rail-car lessor CIT Rail Resources.
The 3,200-cubic-foot, 42-foot cars will be used for high-density lading, including shipments of cement and roofing granules.
"In spite of a shortage of rail-car truck castings, Johnstown America was able to maintain its delivery schedule," said Tom Peterson, CIT Rail Resources assistant vice president-maintenance operations, in a prepared statement.
