Trinity Rail Group offers a full line of tank cars, as well as engineering and manufacturing resources. The company has delivered 150,000 tank cars to its North American and international customers in the past 20 years, Trinity officials said in an email.
The company also offers on-site field support for training and technical assistance, and mobile and on-site repair services. Parts and essential maintenance services for operational performance and regulatory compliance are available as well, including rail-car retrofits and other modifications, and periodic certification inspections.
The company’s Trinsight®, an end-to-end supply chain platform, combines real-time tracking with data analysis to optimize supply-chain performance. Cloud-enabled data insights and analytics help rail shippers to make more informed decisions to improve operations and reduce costs.
Meanwhile, Trinity’s shipment management application enables real-time tracking of rail cars so users can view location and status. Trinsight offers numerous sensor options and unique configurations to create tailored reports and real-time critical alerts, Trinity officials said.
The customer profile application captures yard, fleet, geofence, commodity, cost and status information. The data helps build detailed profiles unique to a customer’s operation using internal fleet designations and user-defined commodity types.
An additional service from Trinity is a yard management system to monitor rail cars from entry to exit of a rail yard.
Wabtec Corp. provides components that secure and protect cargo, and help optimize loading and unloading processes. The company’s components are designed to improve safety, reliability and productivity.

The bottom outlet cap and plug features a quick disconnect adapter nozzle and is available in carbon steel, stainless steel or aluminum. Wabtec also offers a number of accessories, including outlet saddles, seal pins, lock caps and skid plates.
The Bogie IQ™ gateway, part of the Amsted Digital Solutions Inc. IQ Series of devices, is an onboard telematics device that monitors the changing conditions of a tank car’s wheelset and brake system performance without using wireless sensors, Amsted officials said.
Through the company’s Supply Chain Visibility™ software platform, users gain real-time access to data, including onboard component health monitoring and location data to manage inbound empties, outbound high-priority loaded cars and first-mile/last-mile verification.
Key features and benefits include automated reporting up to every 15 minutes; more than seven years of device life; forward compatibility with 5G technology; BLE standard communication protocols that support wireless sensors; built-in object character recognition and barcode scanning; and ruggedized, low-profile devices certified to ATEX Zone 1 and Class I, Division 2.
Amsted also offers an array of professional services related to fleet management as well as tank-car engineering and regulatory compliance to help shippers to shift their focus to other priorities, company officials said.
The Greenbrier Cos. Inc. offers more than 40 tank-car designs. In North America, the company operates three certified tank-car manufacturing locations and three certified repair shops, and manages more than 36,000 tank cars.
The global rail transportation equipment supplier pairs innovation and expertise with a capacity to build and repair transportation equipment, Greenbrier officials said.
The company’s online tank-car resource — which can be accessed at go.gbrx.com/tankcars — helps shippers learn more about tank cars, including upcoming regulation deadlines.
