Nordco acquires Shuttlewagon maker Central Power Products

Nordco Inc. recently acquired Central Power Products Inc., which manufactures the Shuttlewagon Railcar Mover.
Used by North American railroads, public transit systems, port authorities and other industries, the Shuttlewagon uses rubber tires to gain traction instead of steel wheels.
The transaction is Nordco's third major acquisition in the past 19 months. The company previously acquired J.E.R. Overhaul in 2006, and Dapco Industries and Dapco Technologies in 2007.
Nordco produces machinery used to lay, repair, clear and maintain railroad track, and provides repair parts and related services for maintenance-of-way equipment.
